The weather stayed in the "teens"
all day, but turnout was still very good for the 2005 Equine Parade and Christmas
Lights Parade on Main Street in Buena Vista.
At 3:30 p.m., there was a procession of horses all decked out with Christmas
decorations. (See the photos below) A children's movie was shown for free at the movie theater,
while kettle corn and hot chili were served along Main Street. Of course, Santa also made an appearance as well. ;)
The grand
finale was the "Christmas lights" parade with fire trucks and other vehicles covered
with bright Christmas lights. Handfuls of candy were continually being thrown towards
the adjacent sidewalks, which kept the children on edge at every moment.
(I, the webmaster, particularly appreciated the Laffy Taffys and boxes
of Dots being hurled out!)
It was a fun social afternoon and evening with downtown businesses receiving many visitors, browsers and shoppers. If you missed out, there is always next year! Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season!
